As Lead Publicist at the on-campus radio station, I spearheaded a comprehensive rebrand to refresh the station’s identity and boost its visibility and engagement across campus.

Role:

Graphic Designer and Publicist

Industry:

Music and Entertainment

Challenges

The main challenge was raising awareness of KSPU on a small campus by creating versatile marketing materials for posters, social media, and merchandise. Rebranding and designing stickers, t-shirts, and signage helped showcase KSPU as a passionate student community beyond just music.

My Approach

When I joined KSPU as a student, they didn’t have a working logo, so one of my main goals was to create branding that combined the mascot, a panda, with the station’s focus on music. This experience helped me grow both personally and professionally while giving KSPU a strong, recognizable identity that they still use today, over 10 years later.

Results

The result was a recognizable brand that captured KSPU’s unique personality and spirit. The new logo and consistent branding established a clear vision, strengthened the station’s identity, and boosted community engagement. This foundation helped KSPU grow its audience and build lasting connections, with the branding still in use over a decade later.

Future Plans

This experience fueled my passion for music and deepened my appreciation for the community and connections that KSPU fosters both on and off campus. It continues to inspire my personal and professional journey.

Conclusion

In conclusion, my time with KSPU not only allowed me to create a lasting brand that still represents the station today but also sparked a lifelong passion for music and community. The experience shaped my personal growth and career, inspiring me to keep fostering meaningful connections through creativity and engagement.
